One of the things you should do before you begin cranking out a lot of articles is to be clear about what you want to gain from article writing. Are you interested in promoting other products and websites (affiliate marketing) or are you going to focus on your own products and site?

The reason I ask that question is because these two methods need to be approached in very different ways. If you are writing articles that are going to call for the reader to be directed to another website or product then you will need to have the author resource information worded differently than if you were promoting your own product.

If you are going to be using the article to drive targeted traffic to your own product or website then using the resource box and a good call to action within that information can be very valuable. You need to keep in mind that
however you do this, once the article has been published, it is almost impossible to make any changes to the articles.

Since your articles will be used in different ways it is a good idea to make minor changes to the article for each directory that it will be submitted to. With some article submission software, you have the ability to do so within
the software, but in most cases, I would recommend manually submitting the articles. This may sound like a lot of work, but really it should only involve editing 3-5 submissions since these articles will be picked up by different ezine publishers.

Once you have a few articles published in the niche you are writing about, you will begin to be recognized as an expert in that area. That’s exactly what you are looking for. You want people to perceive you as someone who is
knowledgeable in the subject that you are writing about.

In order to retain your credibility it is always a good idea to write the articles in the same ‘voice’. In other words, if you are paying a ghost writer to do the work, you will want to proof the material before you just start submitting willy nilly. Depending on the article directory you are submitting to and how well they screen the material that is being submitted, you may end up being  ‘penalized’ for duplicate content if the writer you have hired is doing work for other marketers in the same niche. That’s why it’s a great idea to research your topic deeper and, if you can, write your own material.

One thing you don’t want to do is start writing articles in different niches and using the same author resource box for all of them. If you are doing that you will tend to be seen at as someone who may be trying to find that sweet spot instead of focusing on one or two niches and targeting them. If you are using the same information in your author resource box, not only will the links back to your sites not be optimized, but the search engines will tend to rank your articles lower because you are not sticking to relevant subjects.

As I mentioned in the previous posts, there is no need to make your article perfect in language, grammar or literarily, in order to be successful in article marketing. Just write it the way you feel about it. That’s your ‘voice’.

Although posting your articles to several article directories on various sites will give you a higher chance of the article being republished, which in the long run benefits you, you should be a little selective before posting them
anywhere you get a chance to do so. Article directories that have high rankings and a lot of traffic should be your priority.

Be mindful of the length of the articles you are writing. Most directories suggest ones that are between 450 and 800 words. The longer you make your articles, the better chance that your readers will lose their attention and start surfing elsewhere, and you don’t want that.

If you find yourself in the position that the articles(s) that you are writing are going longer than 850 words, you may want to start combining them into a short report and give them away as a bonus for joining your newsletter.

HEY, there’s a novel idea!

So now you have some great ideas about how you should be writing and where you should be targeting your article marketing efforts. There is one more thing that I would like to go into next time. That is the different types of articles you can write, so be on the lookout for that in the next few days.

If you remember in the last post, I was talking about how to article marketing effectively in your niche of choice.

I am confident that you’ve started writing some articles specifically targeted at your niche of choice, whatever that may be. Right?

Well, first off, don’t worry about whether or not the content of the article is good enough, all you need to do is get words down on ‘paper’ (notepad, wordpad, open office, etc) and then organize it into a logical flow.

Once you do have it in the order you want, you can do one of several things with it. Firstly, you probably want to post it on your blog. Hopefully you have found a good domain name for your niche and have gotten one of the numerous wordpress themes installed and configured (that’s a subject of another series I am working on).

Again, don’t worry about content because once you put it up on the Internet it will begin to be viral. If you have an RSS feed attached to your blog, then those people who are subscribed to it will receive notification that you have new content. There are also a number of ‘plugins’ you can install on your blog to make it go viral, including tools that will automatically ‘tweet’ your blog post.

The next step (and I am not listing these in any particular order) is to take your post, or article, and ‘spin’ it a bit. The reason you want to do that is because you are going to submit it to various article directories. You can do this in a number of different ways also. The way that I recommend doing it is through Article Marketer and through EzineArticles.com.

Why?

Well as you can see by the graphics belowarticledistrib11, a submission to Article Marketer gets distributed far and wide which means that any number of ezine publishers, or blog writers, can pick up your article and publish it as long as they keep your author resource information intact. You’re probably asking yourself why I would submit separately to EzineArticles.com. Here’s why, EZA is the article directory with the most traffic to it and articles that are published there tend to be indexed by the various search engines quicker.

So what does having an article published in one of these two

directories mean to you? It means more publicity of your product articledistrib2or your business or your blog. That in turn increases the chances of someone reading your article, visiting your site, and buying your product.

The more your article is circulated through these various channels, the more people will read it and know about your product and business or blog. That is the basic point of any advertisement.

Since it does not cost anything to dive into article marketing, the revenue that you earn through it will be pure profit for you. Every time someone clicks on your author resource links and visits your site, the higher your odds of making a sale. The return on your investment is unmeasureable. So, if you can post a few articles daily, you will begin the deluge of traffic to your site and begin to reap the rewards of article marketing.

So I hope you are grasping the power of article marketing in whatever niche you choose to get involved in. I will cover a few more points in my next post, but before I go, there one item of importance I need to let you know…

Mike Steup released his Ready Made OTO, which, if you go back a couple of posts, you will realize the importance of this. Mike has come up with  set of 10 One-Time-Offers (OTOs), each with 25 e-books in the bundle. You get the sales (OTO) page, the download page and of course, the e-books for each of the 10 bundles. Unbelievably, that’s 250 ebooks with Master Resell Rights! Even if you don’t use the OTOs for your own benefit (which you should), the price you are getting the ebooks for is a downright steal.

Pay attention though, once you purchase the package, he has another offer that is even more incredible. Unfortunately, I can’t give that one away…you’ll have to find out for yourself and you can do that here.

Until next time,

Today I am starting a short series on using article marketing effectively when you are targeting a specific niche.

If you’re not already using article marketing as an effective way of advertising your business already, then you are losing out on valuable traffic and in turn, profits from your info product. Therefore, at least try it before deciding if it is a good way to market your product.

If you are not aware of the advantages of article marketing to drive targeted traffic to a specific website, then you need to read this post and my subsequent posts to realize how much you have been missing out on in terms of profits.

By now you have probably been told that the effective advertising of your business can be done only by investing boat loads of money into it. One of the few exceptions to that is article marketing. You have the capability of reaching out to a ton of potential buyerss of your product without having to spend a single penny for it.

Since article marketing involves the use of search engine optimization through keywords, the people who actually read your article are not finding it at random. They have come across your article by typing in the keywords into their favorite search engine or while visting an article directory. This means that they are specifically looking for information that links your article directly to their search.

This brief explanation of how you can effectively use article marketing to drive people to whatever website you want them to visit leads me to the announcement of a new PLR package from my friend Doug Champigny.

He has put together a Chinese Herbal Medicine PLR pack that includes:

the e-book
ten articles
audio versions of the 10 articles
2 sets of graphics
and even the blank graphics for easy editing in any graphics/photo program…

This powerful niche e-book, articles and audios make a great stand-alone product, but they also target many of the same people who got the Aromatherapy bundle from his last launch…

Now HOW do I know this?

Some quick research done by another good friend Mike Paetzold, using his favorite tool, Market Samurai, on chinese herbal medicine shows this:

39 – the estimated number of daily views if you got the top ranking on Google

3670 – the number of competing pages for the term

82% – the commercial viability of the term (higher the better)

$1.61 – average cost for adwords traffic for that term

Chinese Herbal Medicine, is a topic of great fascination to most people so it’s a natural to cross over into various niches. Meaning you can target a variety of markets using the basice article marketing techniques above with this one bundle!

As usual, there are only 100 PLR licenses to be had before it gets pulled offline and Doug’s packages tend to only last a couple of days. Case in point, last week’s aromatherapy bundle got pulled in 3 1/2 days, so don’t hesitate.

On another note…and one of my favorite topics: Giveaways…

Jason James has personally asked me to help him announce the launch of his

Greedy Giveaway, Version 4.

This giveaway launches on April 28th and goes through May 12th. It’s the perfect opportunity to use The Easy Giveaway Plan to start to build and monetize your list.

So go grab Doug’s Chinese Herbal Medicine PLR pack and use the basic article marketing strategy that I have given you to drive traffic to your site and then go join Jason’s Greedy Giveaway, submit your giveaway product and start building and monetizing your list using The Easy Giveaway Plan.

Next time, I will continue on with more article marketing strategies.

Til then,
