I’m going to beat on a subject here that everyone talks about but not a lot of people do right.

List building.

IF you do it wrong, you shoot yourself in the foot and you never make any dough online, or you make a little and then it dries up.

If you do it right.

It just works. It really does.

You need a plan. A blueprint.

A Blueprint For Lucrative List Building

Tis the season for JV Giveaway events to be announced more frequently. I’ve put together a short article on how you can prepare your ethical bribe to help build your subscriber list through these events.

If you’ve been building a mailing list to create in income while working online you probably know that one of the easiest ways to attract readers to your list is through the events.

In this post I am going to go over the three components that you must have in place before you join one of these events as a contributor. Once you have these in place, you can visit my Giveaway Page to join the various giveaway events and start, or continue to build, your mailing list.

There are many things you can do to get ready for a JV Giveaway even before receiving your first email invitation to enter one as a contributor but having these three components are critical.

One of the great things about these events is that as a contributor, you can expect to receive a significant increase in traffic to your squeeze page. You want your squeeze page to be optimized so that the visitors are intrigued by the headline and realize that they must have the product you are providing to further their own business.

Put your best foot forward! Preparing your product and getting your page uploaded are two very important steps for preparing to participate in these events. The first impression the visitor will get about you is your squeeze page.

You can take steps now to design your site so you “WOW” visitors from the start. An incomplete or poorly designed page will discourage people from signing up to get your report and you will have missed an opportunity.

The three components you will want to have in place are:

1. Squeeze Page
2. Autoresponder (opt in form)
3. Download Page

Squeeze Page.

This is the page where the visitors will read about your product, then enter their information. It’s important to provide just enough information to hook the reader but not so much to overwhelm them.

Your ultimate goal is to get their name and email address so you can communicate with them in the future with the intent to turn them into a customer. Squeeze Pages On Crack will provide you with a template that has been proven over and over again to convert at a very high rate and the instructions to help you set yours up.

Autoresponder.

An autoresponder is simply an email delivery service that can collect the name and email address of your visitor and automatically send them an email from you. You will use your autoresponder service to create your opt-in form as well as deliver email to your leads. Good autoresponder services, such as Aweber, will take you through the process step-by-step. They can help you to set up your opt-in form and give you instructions on how to add it into the html coding of your squeeze page.

Autoresponders also make it easy to follow up with your list and turn them into paying customers through a series of informative emails.

Download Page.

This is the page your visitors (now subscribers) will be directed to after they submit their information. This will also be the page where they download their free gift. These are just like any other page on your website.

Some people will put one time offers on this page to further monetize the process. These OTO’s are a way for you to earn money from the event.

With these components in place, you are ready for the JV giveaway event to start. There are all kinds of software programs out there to help you accomplish all of these things and make your job a bit easier, but that is the subject of another article.

Do you want to find out how I went from 7 subscribers to 4,868 subscribers in 118 days? My free report “List Building From Scratch” details the tips, strategies and methods that will work for you too!

When i logged on to my computer this morning and opened my email I was greeted with several emails from potential customers stating that they weren’t able to get to the website I was directing them to yesterday.

At first I thought maybe there was something wrong with the site… you know, too many people trying to view it at the same time and they were getting a ‘page can’t be found’ error because of the load on the server. So I went and checked it.

Internet Explorer was giving me the page can’t be found error

Internet Explorer 404 Error

and FireFox was doing the same…

FireFox404error

I thought, ok, this is weird, so I started checking my other sites.

Same thing…

Ok… this is definitely weird, so I went and tried to log into my webhosting cPanel. Same thing. Nothing there except a ‘page not found’ error.

Alright, things are getting weirder.

So I started contacting some of my buds on skype to ask them to check both my sites and my webhosts site.

Same things for them.

Now I am getting worried. So I started digging through my emails from them to find some sort of contact information. It only took me a few moments to find them.

A few phone call tries confirmed my suspicion.

They had gone out of business.

NOW what???

I have no websites online, no way to access my autoresponder account and no way to get into ftp to see if I can upload anything…

Disastrous!

Well, it could be.

This really didn’t happen, but it is a real possibility that exists in the online world. If you’re not prepared for the worst, you could be out of business.

Or maybe you wouldn’t be.

Leave a comment and let me know your answers to these questions:

Am I out of business now?

What’s the first step you would take to get yourself back up and online?

I look forward to reading your answers.
