How’s your list?

Do you need to scroll through several pages and hope you don’t miss anyone? (Good for you!)

Or can you count your subscribers just using your hands and feet? Checking it twice with NO problems at all!

Well, let’s change that…here’s another fast way to add hundreds or even thousands of new subscribers to your list, fast.

Namely, by participating in a JV (joint venture) giveaway event.

Here are 3 of them:

Thanksgiving Giveaway (going on right now…you can still download gifts)
Santa’s Big Giveaway (Starting tomorrow, hurry to get in)
Merry Christmas Giveaway (Opens November 30, still time to get in!)

Here’s how it works…

A group of marketers get together for a giveaway event. Each marketer offers something of value, typically software or an ebook, to add to the event.

Here’s a note worth remembering: Giving something of value means you should create something entirely new for this event, or you should be giving away something that you previously sold. Either way, just make sure you aren’t giving away a freebie that you’ve given away elsewhere.

Do you need some PLR material to put together an ebook quickly?

If everyone gives away valuable products, the giveaway event itself earns a good reputation.

These aren’t small events with only a handful of marketers contributing products. Nope, in these you will see at least half a dozen to several dozen marketers chipping in products for the event.

Now here’s how you build your list:

The only way someone can get their hands on your freebie is by opting into your newsletter.

You can also see why you should be offering something valuable – when a giveaway event visitor is faced with opting into a dozen or more lists to receive freebies, he’s likely to pick and choose carefully so he only gets the freebies he really wants.

Now, if you just want to download, you can skirt around that issue by upgrading when you first sign up for the event. That allows you to get direct download links to the products WITHOUT signing up for a newsletter.

Depending on the event, it also allows you to add one time offers which will generate some additional income depending on how your backend, or OTO (One Time Offer) is set up. You can get additional information on setting up your own OTO here.

That means if you create a super-attractive gift AND give visitors a compelling reason why they should opt in to get your gift, you can expect plenty of new subscribers.

The final component that pulls the entire event together to make it a success is that all the participating marketers send information to their current list(s) about the event, blog about the event, and so on.

Usually, event participants are given a special link to promote the event. That way the event organizers can offer “perks” to those who send lots of traffic, such as showing the marketer’s freebie at the top of the list (which means that marketer will get more new subscribers).

These events are viral because not only do you have several marketers telling their lists about them, you also have the prospects talking about the event.

Another way that they are viral is the sites tend to stay up past their ‘closing’ dates, so if someone finds the giveaway site through a search engine, you may get signups in the future.

So what are you waiting for?

Get over and signup quickly for the events and start/continue building your list.
