I’ll bet you didn’t know that there is a Magic Formula for increasing the number of subscribers you get from your squeeze page.

Specifically, I’m going to take a look at a small, seemingly insignificant change that can TRIPLE your rate of opt-in subscribers.

Before I get into the actual strategy itself, it’s important that I remind you of the science of getting folks to opt-in (join by request) to your list.

You see, many people forget (or for newbies, never really know) the “magic formula” for producing an opt-in subscriber.

Did you know that there is a very specific formula for getting people to become subscribers.

There are actually three elements…

List + Enticement + View = Opt-In

And each is critically important to the equation.

If you are missing even one of them, then you are missing subscribers.

1. A List – This one is a no-brainer. You can’t produce an opt-in subscriber until you have a list. Nothing shocking there.

2. An Enticement (remember – ‘bait’) – There was a time when just having a list was enough. That time is gone. In order to get people to join your list, you must give them some compelling reason to do so.

3. View -  Having a list and having an enticement alone won’t get it done either. Folks need to KNOW that you have a list and they need to KNOW that there is some really good reason for them to care that you have a list. They gotta SEE your list and offer.

That probably sounds a bit confusing but I will explain that more in detail on the Squeeze Page webinar I am hosting on Monday.

Very basically, that’s how you get an opt-in. That’s how you get a subscriber.

You need a list.

You need ‘bait’.

And you need your visitors to see both.

One of the biggest hurdles that writers face when they need to write a lot of articles is how to come up with newer and fresher content. The best way is to brainstorm and come up with different ideas. But since that can get you to the point of wanting a sharp stick pushed in to your eye, here are some simple tips that might help you decide the subject of your next articles quicker.

To start with, you need to decide what type of an article you would want to write. In general there are four categories:

The List Article

The most common type of article found on the internet it is the easiest to write as well. All it needs is putting together a bunch of associated information. Examples of such type of articles can be:

“Three Ways to Change Your Readers’ Perception of You ”
“Four Deadly E-Book Mistakes”
“Three Reasons To Get Into Internet Marketing”

These types of articles have three essential parts

1. An introduction
2. Short paragraphs of minimum 2 lines describing the various objects that your article addresses.
3. A short conclusion.

The “How to” Article

This is the most interesting type of article as it describes how to make something new. Everyone likes to experiment once in a while, don’t they? These kinds of articles are generally of the form

“How To Write An Ebook”
“How Not to Become a Phishing Accessory”
“New Computer – Old Email, or How to Back up and Transfer Your Email” etc.

Just a quick plug; these are all titles of articles that I have written and you can find at EzineArticles.com

The Review Article:

What would you do if you were a golfer and you just bought the latest putter that hit the market, and all of a sudden, you are sinking everything? From 5 footers to 25 footers and you can’t miss the cup. Now, there are some that would buy it just because it’s made by (insert your favorite club brand here), but there are more that would want to get a second opinion, or some sort of review. People are looking for other opinions all the time. In this way the popularity of review articles does not come as a surprise.

The essential issues that need to be touched upon by review articles are:

The USP (unique selling point) of the product. What results does it promise.
How much of that claim does it fulfill.
Are the benefits worth the cost; and if so, who can be the prospective buyers to benefit from this.
Make sure that whatever way you choose for writing review articles you adhere to these three guidelines.

The Round Up Article

This is also a simple kind of article writing. All you need to do is to consult various sources or experts and provide an overview of a situation. This is kind of a general deduction made on the basis of certain given parameters – like general remarks, facts, arguments and judgements. It’s kind of a rounding up piece.

For example:

Now that you know about the various types of articles, you can channel your creativity in a proper course. Diversify your literary skills in exploring issues that are not exactly mundane or commonplace.

Master Your Giveaway Event Participation

Today is the start of one of my favorite sporting events of the year, The Masters. This is the golf tournament that is held at Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia and is invitation only. Pretty much, you don’t just say, ‘I am going to play in the Masters this year’, or next. You have to earn your way in by winning and be extended an invitation to play in the tournament.

Yes, I am rooting for Tiger Woods to win it, but not just because he is by far the best golfer in the world right now. You see, I have been a golf fan since way back when…I grew up rooting for the likes of the Golden Bear, The Merry Mex, Arnie, and Tom Watson. I am rooting for Tiger because he has brought the game back and made it more popular than it has ever been before.

The Masters is very similar to one of my favorite things in the Information Marketing world; Giveaway Events. You see, you don’t just ‘join’ one, you have to be extended an invitation to participate in one, or several.

How do you get extended an invitation? To begin with, you need to be on someones mailing list. You can do that by signing up for somebody’s newsletter, and if that person is one who participates in these events, you will receive an email from them to become a member of whatever giveaway they are promoting.

Once you join that giveaway, you become a subscriber of someone elses mailing list. Now, once you have joined the event, you have the option to upgrade. What the upgrade does in most of these giveaway events, is it gives you the ability to download any gifts you want without having to subscribe to someone elses list. If you don’t upgrade, each gift that you want to download, you will have to subscribe to another list. Now, you do have the ability to unsubscribe from these lists if you want, especially if the person you downloaded from doesn’t provide you with any valuable content (that’s what I, at the very least attempt to do with my subscribers), which a majority of them don’t.

I can’t remember the first giveaway event I got into, I just remember that I thought it was very cool that there are people out there (I almost said marketers), that were willing to give you something for free in exchange for your email address. Of course, that was almost two years ago, and I have learned a ton since then.

One of the things that I have learned, was that in order to successfully be a contributor to these events (and there are a lot of them), you need to have an eproduct that is attractive to the visitors of these events. Once you have found an ebook like this, you can get your autoresponder set up to gather the email addresses of the people who download your product. It’s at this point that you have the capabilty to start sending them valuable content that relates to the product that they have gotten from you.

What that means, is that if they have downloaded a book on dog training, you don’t want to all of a sudden start sending them offers for the best way to take care of your lawn. That makes sense doesn’t it?

Now, go back and read the title of this post. You’re probably asking yourself ‘how’ you go about ‘mastering’ the art of participating in giveaway events. Let me tell you this, most people who are invited to join these giveaway events and want to contribute to grow their own mailing lists, don’t get this part.
