This has been a great series, Ron – thanks for putting it out there for newbies to follow along with. It’s important for them to realize that if they can transfer files between folders or drives on their computer they already have the skills to FTP files to their site – it’s the exact same click-and-drag process.

Good post Ron. With all of the new tools and technology, FTP is still needed for a lot of thing, but if someone is making their first web site, then a WordPress blog would be great for them while using an automated installer. It can help them get their site up without having to learn everything at once.

I resemble Mike Paetzold’s comment. I was afraid on FTP, and when I finally buckled down to figure it out, it turned out to be incredibly simple.
